Hello everyone! I am finally back to my apartment in Thessaloniki after a long weekend in Santorini. I don't even know where to begin to explain all the amazing things I did on the island but I will do my best to cram everything in! After flying all night long from Friday to Saturday, we arrived in Santorini early in the morning, checked into our hostile we were staying at and was ready for the day (even though none of us had gotten any sleep after flying all night there was no time for sleeping!) We decided to sign up for an all day cruise we had heard about that takes you around the island. We got on board this huge boat that took us to an active volcano! We all hiked all the way to the top and enjoyed the amazing views! After spending some time at the volcano, we got back on the boat that took us to a hot springs next to the mountains where we had to jump off the boat into the water and swim to the hot springs. It was absolutely amazing! Our last stop after the hot springs was a trip to Oi to watch the sunset. Oi is where all the amazing blue and white buildings are and it was such a beautiful part of the island I was in complete shock the whole time. When the boat let us off we had a long hike up the mountain so we decided to make the brave decision to ride the donkeys up the mountain. Let me start with saying that I had no idea how crazy donkeys are! They are reckless and can run faster than you think going up hill. It was one of the scariest things I have ever done, but still so much fun! Besides, how could I have possibly traveled all the way to Greece and not rode a donkey at least once! It was a long, exciting day filled with so many beautiful sights, yummy food and tears of joy.
