Hello everyone! This is officially my first blog post while being in Thessaloniki, Greece. I've only been here for two days but feel like I have been here for weeks. I suppose I should start off by saying that so far I am having the time of my life! The places I have gone, the people I have met and all the foods I have tried are absolutely incredible and I feel as if I am in some sort of a make-believe fairytale land. Yesterday was my first official day here and I started my day with waking up and having a delicious greek breakfast at my hotel (the picture above shows the breakfast bar). During the day I met up with my group and we had orientation for our program. Learned alot about the city in general and then had a greek teacher teach us some basic greek words to help us communicate with the greeks while we are here! I guess I didn't realize how little english the greeks speak. Most people I have tried talking to only understand a basic "hello or thank you" and that's about it! After orientation as a group we went to a little cafe for lunch next to the water where I enjoyed my first greek salad...amazing! The rest of the day we got a walking tour of downtown Thessaloniki and then enjoyed an amazing 6 course meal. We got to taste several different greek dishes which were all amazing and later on found a cute bar to hang out at and have a drink. It was super humid outside and everyone was beyond tired so we all made our way back to our hotel and finally got a full nights sleep!

Sorry I am a little late posting about my time here. We are doing a lot of introduction stuff and orientation activities so I don't really have any down time to update my blog but today we get to move into our apartments so I imagine I will have a little more time on my hands to keep everyone updated! So far I am happier than I have ever been, truly taking in each and every moment while I am here. I feel so unbelievebly lucky to have made it here and I feel like I am living the dream. Talk to everyone soon! Jia Sau!
